Paul Mc Garrie: Fused Glass & Wood Art in Lamlash

Step into my studio in Lamlash, where I transform molten glass and island-sourced wood into pieces that echo the raw, ancient spirit of the Isle of Arran. For over a decade, I’ve been crafting unique art inspired by our rugged peaks, tranquil shores, and rich Celtic heritage.

My Craft: From Kiln to Wood

My work is a blend of traditional techniques and island inspiration:

  • Fused Glass & Kiln Casting: Layers of glass melted and sculpted into substantial, vibrant forms.

  • Pâte de Verre: Delicate, textured surfaces created using fine glass powders.

  • Handcrafted Wood Art: New, unique pieces inspired by the natural textures of Arran’s landscape.

Things to See and Do in Lamlash & Arran

Living and creating here on the coast is a daily inspiration. If you are planning a trip to the island, here are a few local favorites you shouldn't miss:

  • Holy Isle: Take the ferry from Lamlash for a peaceful walk and a unique view back toward the island.

  • Lamlash Shore: Perfect for a quiet stroll and checking out the local wildlife.

  • Lamlash Bay Hotel: A great spot on the shore front to grab lunch and take in the view of the bay.
